I just got home and am still high from this weekend! I have to thank all of the wonderful - talented - beautiful ladies who danced with us! THANK YOU! You all made this the best weekend...hugs, hugs and more hugs :}

Sat, July 23, 2005 - 12:44 AMI just received a copy of our tribal fest video (thank you Shawna!!!!). Since I had to change costumes I didn’t see any of the other performances. You guys were all amazing. I’ve watched the video like 800 times and have learned so much from you all. Monica that scoochie thing you do on the floor with the shoulder locks, FINALLY the bow and arrow and kama sutra!. You’ve given me lots of ideas and new stuff to work with. Atash Maya you were so smooth. I love it all =)
I’m so proud of Jessica and Janese that was their second belly dance show ever and they held their own!!!! That choreography was challenging and you guys rocked! I’m so happy to be dancing with you. Janice, Ariellah, Shawna and Keri you were amazing and I miss dancing with you guys.
The audience was so supportive of our set!!!! Someone recently told me that the only reason I get applause is because I’m friends with everyone in the audience and because I’m black. Yeah I’m serious. Whatever your reasons were for clapping and applauding…THANK YOU! It’s nice to have the support of the audience.
With all the drama from the past year I needed that show and that weekend. You are all amazing people and you made that the best tribal fest ever.
Anyways I’m done rambling. Tribe or email me your addy and let me know if you want a VHS or a DVD.

That set was so much fun. Lots of people came up to me that weekend and said it was their favorite thing, not only b/c of the quality of dance performances but also b/c of the true sisterhood displayed. You guys are geniuses! What a fantastic idea.
And girl, you get applause because you rock!

we had a small party last night at melodias house and we all watched the dvd. me, melo, sabrina, and sherri ALL commented on what an amazing dancer you are, Meliza, and how much power you have on stage.

Heather of Urban Tribal stopped me later in the day to say how much she liked the whole group show and that she thought we should take it on the road - seriously. So...I have access to 2 Vanagon campers we can pile into - anyone else interested? Anyone a good promoter? -

I too missed the performances because I was dressing YOU but after watching the video... I was just wowed by the sheer brilliance that is YOU getting this group together and making it WORK... yes, you DO have a lot of friends but it's because of YOU and who YOU are... nobody in this group does stuff to impress, etc. they do it because of the friendship.... they value you as a friend. Being "friends with everyone" is phenomenal and for you to be able to gather this group together to dance was phenomenal... and it so rocks.... You SO rock... I am SO proud to be a part of this bit of Tribal Fest history... and you and Steph made it all happen for me. I really appreciate everything you both have done to get me to where I am right now!!! I am so grateful....
