    Kay' here's what I've come up with so far. These ones are from Sanskrit words and pretty much are pronounced how they look, if not then I'll add a phonetic key next to it.

    Aravinda = lotus

    Aravinda Rising Tribal Fusion Bellydance or just Aravinda Rising : I see this as a tribute to where you came from but also to where you are going with the ‘rising’.

    Isha (eyeshuh) = protector
    Indira = ancient feminine form of Indra which means beauty

    Isha Indira Tribal Fusion Bellydance or just Isha Indira: I like this image of ‘protector of beauty’ because it just seems to me that bellydance is so entwined in doing that.

    I personally like the names with out the 'Tribal Fusion Bellydance' tacked on because it sounds more strong yet mysterious. I'll have more in the next few days.

    Thanks for the invite to the troupe Meliza!

    The onlye name I ever came up with that wasn't used was "Lunatic Fringe", but then I think some store took that name in No Cal? I don't know.

    Good luck! Names are hard. We changed our name two years in because we chose a name when we HAD to have a name, and it wasn't so much us. Knowing who you are together, and where you are headed together, makes it so much easier to get a name. The "second round" not only yielded many more names that made us go "Yeah!" but also the name we unanimously chose: inFusion Tribal.

    If I have any wild brainstorms, I'll hit ya wit'em.

    I agree Isha Indira is a great name. ;O)

    what direction do you all want to go? that should/might have a large influence as to what the namn should be. ;)

      I like the name as it is supposed to be pronounced, but it will surely be mispronounced all over the place.

      And while it is beautiful, it has no meaning to the audience (most audiences, anyway). What I mean is, if you don't know the definitions of those words, it's just a pretty name, and not a reflection of the troupe's style or energy, per se. It doesn't conjure any images, or make me sit up and take notice. It's just...pretty words.

      I am not shooting it down, because it is lovely and the meaning, once you know it, is great, but just presenting another viewpoint.

        I totally understand that view point. But then I have a troupe with "just a pretty name" even though it has a great meaning. *winks*

        I am a fluffy bunny after all, so I like pretty ;op

            There is a name that I have been waiting to use for a long time, but since I'm giving up at this point of getting anything going involving other people, I would be totally fine if you ladies used it. It's "Inshaalha" and it means "God's Will". It's used when there are factors beyond your control affecting something, whether positively or negatively. I worked with a woman who lived in Dubai for 4 years and "caught" the habit of saying it from her. I like it because we're never entirely in control of everything. There are always greater forces involved.

            I can't wait to see you perform! I am excited to see what happens. You and Steph are such wonderfully beautiful dancers!
